went to the vet yesterday. Dr. Down told me that Buster has pneumonia and is very sick. They did a blood work up and two chest x-ray's. The white blood count is high which he knew it would be due to the pneumonia and everything else looks good. The chest x-ray's look really bad. Dr. Down took me into a room so we could explain the x-ray's to me. Buster's lungs are totally full of fluid which is not allowing in to breath correctly. We now have new med's and have to go back to the vet next Friday for another chest x-ray to see if the liquid is leaving the lungs. With the liquid in his lungs he may have some lung damage when this is all said and done, to what extent we do not know until he is healthier. So today I am home with him watching him and making sure that he is convertible and is drinking his water. He still does not want to really eat anything on his own so we are helping him with that. So for a free dog we have know spent $263.00 on him. Now we have to deal with Thor being sick as well but you can't even tell that she is sick at this point. We where able to start her on med's now as well to prevent her from getting to sick.
I can not put into words how I feel about Buster and him being so sick. All I want is for him to get up and start playing with Thor and be a normal heathly dog. I am so attached to him now that I can't think what it would be like to not have him but at the sametime we do not even know what he is like when he is not sick.
is healthy again. Went back to the vet on Friday and had 2 more x-ray's done on his chest to see if the liquid was gone from his lungs, and almost all of it is gone. We will have to go back again on the 5th of March to have more x-ray's done to make sure that the liquid has not come back. So Corey and I are so happy that he is up playing and fighting with Thor. Buster is even sleeping all night long. It is so nice to have him healthy and normal, even if it comes with his bad habits.
